LIVING ARCHIVES: Creating Soil Journals
This workshop is part of the Architecture Fringe 2025 programme, and offers a space to think through material, memory, and ecology at the intersection of art, architecture, and environment.
Soil is more than just earth beneath our feet—it is a living archive that records ecological cycles, geological time, and human activity. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore soil not only as a material but as a storytelling medium.
Through a guided process using pre-prepared molds, we will create personalized soil journals—objects that encapsulate memory, texture, and place. This tactile engagement with soil invites reflection on its overlooked role in sustaining life and preserving the histories of both nature and humanity.
No prior experience is required. All materials will be provided. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and your perspective shifted.
